Lunchtime Conference External Cooperation Infopoint
Knowledge and technologies generated from research are drivers of sustainable agricultural growth. Effective and targeted research can help lift farmer incomes, reduce poverty and has a knock on effect on other sectors. Research partnerships that address mutually agreed problems and co-develop solutions are the means to long lasting individual food security, and producing surpluses for sale. Nonetheless, in an effort to achieve quick impact, the importance of research in development is often overlooked despite its high return on investment. Bridging the gap between agricultural research and development is essential to break down silos and develop creative solutions for some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
